Who is the person behind this item?
The original Jumanji Game board is a prop from the movie Jumanji.
Jonathan Hensleigh, Greg Taylor, and Jim Strain wrote the script for Jumanji, which Joe Johnston directed in 1995.
What’s more, the film is the first edition of the Jumanji franchise, loosely based on Chris Van Allsburg’s picture book of the same name. Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Jonathan Hyde, and David Alan Grier are all-star.
Jumanji got first released in 1981 as a board game. Milton Bradley first produced the game, but Hasbro later took it to create it.
Although the rules have altered significantly throughout the years, the game’s primary goal remains to solve clues and avoid dangers to be the first player to reach their home space.
Why is this item so rare?
The original board, according to Allen, is regarded rare. According to BoardGameGeek, a website that tracks games, the first Jumanji board got made by Milton Bradley and launched in 1981.
The box cover was colorful and featured several actual animals on top of a grassy area with trees in the background. Then in 1983, the surface got modified to show a rainforest scene with trees, bushes, vines, and a waterfall in the backdrop.
There were four males and four girls on the front panel of the first edition box cover. However, there were just two boys and two girls on the front panel of the second edition box cover.
How much is it worth today?
In early 2014, an actual board game from the 1995 film Jumanji got auctioned for $60,800 on eBay.
In addition, the set got built of polyfoam that has got coated.
Hence, this prop got primarily utilized in action sequences as this is the story’s main point.
