The 1992 Nintendo Campus Challenge; a video game competition sponsored by Nintendo on approximately 60 college campuses and the United States and Canada. 

Campus Challenge got twice, once in 1991 and once in 1992. 

Nintendo published 25 games with specially constructed black cartridges; now, these are among the rarest and most valuable games globally, as only 25 copies got born.

It’s thought that game number 20 got given to Steven Lucas, who went on to win the inaugural championship in 1991.

Why is this item so rare?

The inaugural Nintendo Campus Challenge took place in 1991, and Nintendo followed it up with a second tour in 1992. The event took place for the second and final time. The Nintendo Campus Challenge in 1992 featured a particular cartridge, similar to the 1991 tour.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) got used instead of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

According to reports, three of these games git released in 1992. However, only two got to exist. Rob Walters, a video game collector, discovered one of the games at the same yard sale where he got the 1991 Nintendo Campus Challenge cartridge.

Then, this game copy got put in the hands of privately to Rick Bruns, a video game collector.

While the other Nintendo Campus Challenge game got from the attic of a former employee who worked on Nintendo projects.

How much is it worth today?

The 1992 Nintendo Campus Challenge video game’s estimated value is 20,000 thousand dollars. 

Only one copy of the cartridge exists, making it even more uncommon than the Nintendo World Championships cartridge. But then, it auctioned for $20,100 on eBay and is now in the hands of a private collector.
