Once Upon a Time in Shaolin Album

Who are the people behind this album?

Last July 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice announced they sold Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin Album existing copy.

Wu-Tang Clan is a hip-hop band from Staten Island, New York City, founded in 1992. RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna are among the group’s members.

In 2015, they released the double album of Once Upon A Time In Shaolin. It contains 31 songs. It is their seventh full-length album as a group.

What makes this extremely rare?

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, this album has only one copy.

From the start, Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin Album was a rebellion against rent-seeking brokers, persons who profit from the artist, said Mr. Johnson.

Once Upon a Time precedes the contemporary frenzy for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or digital items produced with blockchain computer code. They are keeping them from being replicated and tracking their source.

The owners can listen to 31 songs on the item’s two CDs. Admire the engraved nickel-silver box, and look through the leather-bound parchment book that comes with the thing. But, upon purchasing the album, they are bound by several legal clauses imposed by RZA and Cilvaringz. It can’t be reproduced, for example. Furthermore, the album’s owner will not profit economically until 2103.

What is the market cost of this album?

In 2015, Martin Shkreli, a hedge fund manager, paid $2 million for the winning bid. After that, in 2017, he was held liable for securities fraud. He unwillingly gave up over $7 million in assets, including the rights to the album.

Giving it a fresh lease on life on the cutting edge of digital art and cryptocurrency, PleasrDAO purchased the record for $4 million.
