Known as the Mick, he was a tremendous switch-hitter both right- and left-handed.
He hit 536 home runs for the New York Yankees during his career in the American League.
He was born on October 20, 1931, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, and died in Dallas, Texas, on August 13, 1995.
He aided the Yankees in winning seven World Series (1951–53, 1956, 1958, 1961–62, and 1961–62).
