The character was led in 1939 by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker. Shazam initially appeared in Fawcett Comics’ Whiz Comics #2 around February 1940.

Who is Captain Marvel?

Captain Marvel is the other persona of Billy Batson, a young handyman as a radio news presenter, and was chosen by the wizard Shazam to champion good. Whenever Billy mentions the character’s name, a struck of magical bolt lightning will hit him, transforming him into a grown-up superhero with the abilities of six mythological figures.

What is the difference between Whiz Comics #1 vs. #2?

Please don’t be chaotic, Whiz Comics No. 2, often known as Whiz Comics No. 1 because it was the first publication. Fawcett Comics formerly owned captain Marvel before being acquired by DC Comics. Yet, in a copyright infringement action filed by DC Comics, Captain Marvel was an unauthorized imitation of Superman.
